Congratulations to the Coburg Community Charter School

24 Feb

In just a few big-dreaming, hard-working months, the small community of Coburg, Oregon has a milestone achievement to celebrate. Faced with the budget-driven closure of its elementary school, community leaders rallied last fall to propose a public charter school to sustain and improve this important community asset. As described here, I had the pleasure of working with this remarkable bunch.

The community’s application for charter status has now been approved, and the school is scheduled to open in September. While there’s more work to be done, it’s worth pausing to appreciate what’s been accomplished so far. Congratulations!
